The information that we have on this estate piece is that W F Noyes specialized in equestrian portraits of the American East coast upper class in the 1920s. At the time it was very fasionable to have your portrait done sitting on a horse. He did this painting of Rose Kennedy ( who supposedly did not like riding horses ) and she refused the painting. It sat in his studio for many years and was later given
