As much as the people, who visit the region of the Provence, are conscious
of its unique light and beauty, no one could better interpret this
area
than the native. This explains the in-depth observation and comprehension
noted in the work of Raymond Gizzi, a stylistic Provençal painter
of today.
Born on April 16, 1947, Raymond Gizzi was raised by his
Parisian
mother and Roman father in his native Provence in France, where he
learned to appreciate the lights and colors of this region before
discovering
the art of painting.
After different professional experiences full
of enrichments as well as endless hours of self-discipline, Gizzi
discovered
his real goal and above all a real way to express his sensibility.
In 1985 he participated in his first exhibition at the "Relais Culturel
des Saintes Maries de la Mer." Encouraged by the shows success, he
decided to devote himself entirely to the art of painting. Since then
he has participated in exhibitions throughout the Provence including
Les Baux
de Provence, Aigures Mortes, Aix en Provence, Bandol, Saint Paul de
Vence, and Montpellier.
Gizzi has exhibited in several galleries
shows
in France. His work can also be found in many private collections
in Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Berlin, Brussels, Geneva, London,
Sidney,
Tokyo, Washington, New York, and Los Angeles.
Since 1991 he has settled
in his open-door studio where his career continues to flourish
and gain
fame.
