Energetic...graceful...dynamic, perhaps this is the best to describe the works of Eric Waugh. Waugh has created a viewpoint that scans the horizons of a growing future and brings that vision to the reality of a work of art.

His paintings strike a sensitive and harmonic concordance in color and feeling, creating an atmosphere that seem to usher in the new millennium. Although all of Waugh's works of acrylic and mixed media are one-of-a-kind, they are however linked with a deep thematic vibrancy.

His paintings are seemingly riveted together with the artist's characteristic gold-dots which act as points of unions to harmonize the ethereal color sand images of each piece into a unified rhythmical composition. Flowing from his natural artistic talent and through progressive experimentation with various methods and media, Waugh creates abstracts mainly of a non-subjective nature. Although , recently his work is taking on the graceful yet interpreted elements of the human structure in an embracing ballet of form, texture and color.

Waugh has also reached beyond the bound of the two-dimensional wall to realize an ideal blend of painting and sculpture which would in fact bring his images into open space. Eric does this in a number of varied ways.

In collaboration with his cousin renowned potter "Alice Pace" Waugh encompasses his image on a unique and functional vessel. He also has designed the Mesa-like fashion and mounted on a pedestal base.

Recently Waugh has released his two-dimensional images on to a three dimensional wooden form. Waugh's rise through the art world has been overwhelming. Born in Montreal in 1963, he is self taught in every artistic aspect.

He gained experience in the field of graphic illustration and product design before turning to fine art in 1988. Since then his popularity with art connoisseurs has escalated to the point where his is represented in galleries in virtually every major city in North America.

His paintings have been acquired by hundreds of major corporate and private collectors worldwide. Exquisite balance of rich iridescent color, subtle texture and timeless graphic images in combination with the great creative diversity and passion for painting, place Eric Waugh on the contemporary, refreshing edge of today's international art market.
